BlackBerry Classic Quick Review (Write-Up)

Posted on Updated on

As y’all know yesterday John Chen have presented his new BlackBerry Classic simultaneously in New-York Singapore and Frankfurt. As you know the BlackBerry Classic Is the BlackBerry Bold 9900 successor. To be honest the BlackBerry Q10 is just a QWERTY device from BlackBerry running the OS 10.

BlackBerry Classic is really “CLASSIC”. We’ve got the toolbelt (call, menu, trackpad, back, end call) buttons and a complete physical keyboard (35 touch) then 40 touch on the device.

He run the same specs of the BlackBerry Q10 then :

All rumors was around the Z30 specs but final are really not.
The contour of the BlackBerry Classic is not identical to the Bold 9900, but uses the same silver color.  The material is not better in hand than the old school BlackBerry Bold 9900.

On the right we have the volume buttons with BlackBerry assistance button (play/pause), on the left we have MicroSD (16GB can up to 128GB with a MicroSD Card) and Nano SimCard port. We can fount on the top the lock/unlock surrounded by 2 mics and ON/OFF buttons and the down have 2 speakers and SlimPort (USB/M-HDMI). The battery life is well for 22 hours as we can found a 2515mAh battery performance.

For speak about the keyboard, he’s just awesome. You’ll found the same than the bold 9900 but he’s just not curved.

At the back of the phone BlackBerry wanted to approach the design of the Bold 9900 with the contour of the camera who has not exactly the same of the BlackBerry Q10. Same 8MP 3x digital zoom for the front and 5x for the rear with flash led.

The BlackBerry Classic screen is a 3.5″ inch with a 720×720 resolution, he is 60% more larger than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 too.

The BlackBerry Classic browser is 300% faster than the BlackBerry Bold 9900

(just a comparison with the BlackBerry Porshe P’9983)

My opinion is “WAOUH” when I’ve got the phone on my hand, Q10 look very small near the BlackBerry Passport but the BlackBerry Classic look very well near it. Trackpad button need a little adaptation if you come from a BlackBerry 10 w/o toolbelt.
You can found this BlackBerry Device for $449/429€ at Shopblackberry.com and don’t forget to download your own applications from BlackBerry World or Amazon App Store and of course he’s launched with some accessories.
